I will be hosting a Document Shredding and Identity Theft Prevention Event, in conjunction with Upper Macungie Township and Senator Pat Browne, to help residents safely and securely dispose of paperwork containing personal information.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Grange Road Park located at 360 Grange Road, Allentown, PA 18106.

During the event, constituents are invited to shred up to five boxes or bags of sensitive documents per vehicle. The shredding event is for items that contain information such as bank account or Social Security numbers. Please do not bring old phone books, magazines, birthday cards, folders, newspapers, junk mail, etc., as these items can be recycled at the curb. You do not have to remove any staples or paper clips, but please take documents out of binders and notebooks. Information on how to protect yourself from identity theft will be given out to participants.

In addition, attendees are asked to follow these guidelines:
• Participants must stay in their vehicles.
• All shredding materials must be placed in the trunk or truck bed area of the vehicle, not the backseat, prior to arrival. Event staff will unload materials while residents remain in their vehicles.

Proper COVID-19 mitigation protocols will be in place. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the shredding event, we would like to remind residents that we will not begin accepting items for shredding before the start time. This event is for Upper Macungie Residents ONLY. ID required. Yard Waste Cards not accepted. No businesses, please.

I hope to see you on Saturday, May 22nd!
