The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is now accepting applications for 2011 summer employment for students, said Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh/Berks). 

To qualify, a candidate must be a full-time college student enrolled in any degree program.  Candidates with a sophomore or above status must be in good academic standing. 

The program runs from May through August to supplement the permanent workforce.  Seasonal employees typically enhance regular maintenance crews on maintenance projects throughout Pennsylvania. 

All candidates must have an online application.  The deadline to apply is the close of business on Wednesday, March 2.
