HARRISBURG – Northwestern High School senior, Caleb Clymer, who was recently crowned state champion in the 2017-18 PIAA State Class AA Individual Wrestling Tournament, was recognized Wednesday by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for his athletic excellence, according to Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh/Berks).

“Caleb, who is wrapping up his wrestling career at Northwestern Lehigh High School, has an impressive, undefeated record of 38 wins in his senior year,” said Day, who hosted his visit to the state Capitol and presented him with a congratulatory House citation.

To his great credit, he also won first place in the same, 160-pound weight class during the District XI and Southeast Regional Class AA Individual Wrestling championships.

“Caleb comes from a family of wrestling champs. His older brothers, Ben and Scotty, were also PIAA gold medalists. His brother, Bobby, also helped him refine his skills over the years,” Day told his House colleagues during the presentation. “I have no doubt that youngest brother, Dalton, probably has wrestling in his future as well. The family – which also includes four sisters – is extremely supportive in all of their endeavors.”

Day also recognized Clymer’s parents, Scott and Carol Clymer of Germansville, for all of their efforts.
