KUTZTOWN – As a way for local residents to further understand their rights with respect to the state’s firearms laws and protections they have under the Castle Doctrine, Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh/Berks) is holding a special Concealed Carry Seminar on Thursday, March 22, at the Kutztown Grange.

“This seminar is designed to inform people about the various intricacies of our state’s laws regarding firearms and how to safely interact with police when carrying a firearm,” Day said. “In addition, the presentation will include aspects of the Castle Doctrine law, which was passed a few years ago and allows residents to use self-defense without the fear of prosecution if they believe an intruder intends to cause them or their family serious harm in an attack.”

The seminar’s guest speakers will include Berks County Sheriff Eric J. Weaknecht.

The seminar will be held from 6-8 p.m., and the doors will open at 5 p.m.

The Kutztown Grange is located along South Kemp Street in Kutztown.

Due to a limited amount of seating, interested residents must register in advance by calling Day’s office at 610-760-7082 or signing up online at
